My desktop is messy. Really messy. It’s littered with JPEGs, archives and pointless Word documents. Today I actually bothered to listen to all the albums I’ve downloaded that have been lying on my desktop for months. Some of them I kept, some of them I didn’t.

Evilion - Vanity
As far as I know, this is Evilion’s only album, and it’s very, very “meh”. Kind of like After Forever meets CC-era Nightwish. Nothing special.
Not worth the space on my hard drive.

Moonlight - Floe
Oh yay, another Moon- band. Last.fm says they’re gothic metal, but I also see some medieval and trip-hop influences. The singer’s voice is really ethereal. Too bad I can’t understand their lyrics. They’re in Polish.
Quite good. This one gets to stay.

Elane - Lore of Nen
Gothic folk, anyone? They’re like Blackmore’s Night, only more awesome. Unexpectedly good. <3
I only have their most recent album, Lore of Nén, but I’m definitely going to check out their other albums, too.

Asrai - Touch in the Dark
Yet another Dutch gothic metal band. The first song reminds me of Delain, but the lead singer can’t possibly compare to Charlotte. Once again, nothing new or special. However, I won’t delete it just yet. A few tracks sound quite good. They deserve a second listen.

Lacrimas Profundere - Filthy Notes for Frozen Flowers
Several people recommended me Lacrimas Profundere. Now I’m finally listening to them.
They play a slightly doomier gothic metal. I really like the vocals. The lead singer had a deep voice, and a German accent <3

I’ve heard people describing Jack of jill as underrated. I can’t come up with a rational explanation for that. They probably were on speed. Why? Because this band is horrible. The MTV kind of horrible.

Yes, I’ve never listened to Rhapsody before. Stop laughing.
The Magic of the Wizard’s Dream has the same song in four different languages. I like that :3
They’re really epic. I need more of their albums.

While Elane have a more gothic sound, SBB are more medieval. And just as beautiful.
